At the press conference after the British Grand Prix, the upcoming European Championship match between the Netherlands and England was a hot topic. Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, and Lando Norris shared their thoughts on the semi-final.
Verstappen is excited to watch the game with his friend Virgil van Dijk. He often texts Virgil before or after matches but doesn’t feel he needs to give any advice. “They know what they need to do,” he said confidently.
Verstappen’s Hopes for Oranje
Max is rooting for Holland to reach the finals. “I hope Holland wins. It’s simple, but I just want it to be a great game,” he added with enthusiasm.
Hamilton then chimed in with some Dutch phrases directed at Verstappen. “Hoe gaat het met jou?” he asked in perfect Dutch, which means “How are you?” Verstappen confirmed his pronunciation was spot-on.
Hamilton shared that he watched England’s quarter-final against Switzerland with George Russell in front of 20,000 people on a big stage. He appreciated that moment and wished the team well for their next match. “They will know what they need to do,” Hamilton said reassuringly.
Norris echoed similar sentiments about not giving advice to players. He believes it’s best to let them play their game without interference. “The whole country is supporting them from the UK side,” Norris concluded.
Fans might think it’s cool how these drivers support their national teams just like everyone else does!
In conclusion, all three drivers are looking forward to watching their respective teams play and wish them all the best of luck! What do you think?
