Lewis Hamilton will start the Singapore Grand Prix from third place, behind Lando Norris and Max Verstappen. He shared his thoughts on the race, considering Mercedes’ recent struggles.
Mercedes has faced challenges with their car since the summer break. Before the break, they won three of the last four races. Now, they’ve only managed one podium finish with George Russell in Baku.
Hamilton Aims to Beat Verstappen and Norris
After qualifying, Hamilton was asked about his expectations for the race. He said, “It’s very hard to say because it was such a nightmare the past day and a half. I think our long run pace was nowhere near these guys, or at least the McLarens, but we have now put the car in a much different window, so we have to also anticipate a different balance tomorrow compared to the past every other session.”
Hamilton also mentioned that managing tyre temperatures will be crucial. “I think here is really about managing tyre temps, so that’s going to have to be key tomorrow, so doing absolutely everything we can to keep the temperatures out the rears, basically,” he explained. “I hope in our attempt to do that, we are somehow able to hold on to at least one of these guys. We’ll find out tomorrow. I feel confident that we might be able to do that.”
Fans might wonder if Mercedes can turn things around this weekend.
The race will reveal if Hamilton’s confidence pays off. What do you think?
