Hamilton Aims for Success with New Updates at Mercedes

Lewis Hamilton is “really hoping” that the upgrades Mercedes brings to the United States Grand Prix will make a big difference. With only six more races left at Mercedes before he moves to Ferrari in 2025, he wants to finish strong.

Hamilton and Mercedes have had an amazing partnership, winning six of his seven world championships together since 2013. He also became the all-time Grand Prix winner with 105 victories while racing for them.

This year has been a rollercoaster for Hamilton. He’s won two races, including a special one at the British Grand Prix, making it nine wins at Silverstone. However, he’s struggled with the W15 car, especially during qualifying. Despite showing potential, Mercedes still trails behind McLaren, Red Bull, and Ferrari in terms of speed and consistency.

Hamilton “really hopes” the upgrades “work” in Austin

With six races left, Hamilton is looking for improvement. Like Red Bull Racing, Mercedes is bringing upgrades to Austin, Texas. The seven-time world champion hopes these upgrades will boost his W15’s performance: “It’s a good track, it’s one of the best circuits for racing, so I’m looking forward to going there. And yeah, hopefully, our upgrades work there. I know the team are working incredibly hard to bring these upgrades. And over the last three years sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t,” Hamilton shared.

He added that sometimes things don’t match perfectly with what they see in wind tunnels and computer simulations: “Sometimes it doesn’t correlate perfectly to the wind tunnel and CFD, so I’m really hoping, fingers crossed, that we add it and it really works. Last year we brought an upgrade there and it was great, so I’m kind of praying that it does,” he concluded.

Fans might feel excited but cautious about these updates.

What do you think? Will these upgrades help Hamilton finish his time at Mercedes on a high note?
