Hadjar Crashes During Barcelona F1 Testing Session

Red Bull’s Hadjar crashes in Barcelona test session

Isack Hadjar became the first driver to crash during Barcelona testing when he slid off track in the final hour of afternoon running.

The young Red Bull driver lost control at Turn 14 and hit the barriers, bringing out the red flag.

The impact left visible damage to the RB22’s rear wing. It’s still unknown if other critical components like the gearbox were damaged in the crash.

The incident happened just after Hadjar completed his 51st lap of the afternoon. Before the crash, he’d actually been leading the timesheets ahead of Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton.

Verstappen dominates morning session

Earlier in the day, Max Verstappen put in an impressive performance at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The four-time world champion took to the track for the morning session alongside Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.

Verstappen was lightning quick.

He ended up more than eight-tenths faster than Leclerc, despite both drivers dealing with tricky weather conditions throughout their runs.

The testing at Barcelona marks an important preparation phase as teams get ready for the upcoming 2026 regulation changes.
