Haas Secures Replacement for Banned Magnussen Ahead of Baku Grand Prix

Oliver Bearman is likely to replace Kevin Magnussen at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

The team should announce this soon, and it’s uncertain if Haas will appeal Magnussen’s automatic penalty from an incident with Pierre Gasly in Italy. Magnussen got a time penalty and two penalty points, pushing him past the 12-point limit for a year, leading to an automatic ban. If the penalty is overturned, Bearman won’t race, and Magnussen will compete in Baku.

Return for Bearman in Formula 1

This will be Bearman’s second Grand Prix. Earlier this season, he filled in for Ferrari when Carlos Sainz had appendicitis in Jeddah. His performance there impressed many and led to a future seat at Haas for the 2025 season alongside Esteban Ocon.

Fans might be excited about Bearman’s return after his recent success.

Over the weekend, Bearman won the F2 sprint race in Monza, starting from ninth place and securing his second win of the season.

What do you think about Bearman’s chances?
