FIA Addresses 2026 Engine Trick Allegations in Official Statement

The FIA is getting ready to discuss the 2026 rules shake-up with teams before pre-season testing kicks off.

“It’s just our normal process whenever we change the regulations,” an FIA spokesperson told GPblog. These talks will cover both the new power units and chassis designs that are coming in 2026.

The meeting is part of the ongoing conversations about how Formula 1 will look in just two years’ time.

Teams are already deep into development for what many consider the biggest technical overhaul in recent F1 history.

The 2026 changes will bring a completely new engine formula with increased electrical power and sustainable fuels, plus redesigned cars meant to improve racing.

Engineers across the paddock have been working on these new concepts for months now, with some teams reportedly shifting significant resources to their 2026 projects already.

Pre-season testing will be the first chance for fans to see the current cars in action before the 2024 season begins in earnest.
