Ferrari Must Wake Up: Leclerc’s Stern Assessment

Charles Leclerc‘s hopes fade as Ferrari struggles continue

Charles Leclerc isn’t holding his breath for Ferrari to turn things around this season. The frustrated driver qualified a disappointing P7 for the Singapore Grand Prix, trailing behind teammate Lewis Hamilton.

“If there’s a significant problem on the car, I don’t think there’ll be any solution for this,” Leclerc admitted bluntly.

Despite believing the SF-25 has more potential than today’s results show, Leclerc doesn’t expect any major improvements before the season ends.

“In terms of development I’m pretty sure that there’s not much more that we’ll have,” he said. “At least we can maximize our car and I’m sure that the potential of the car is not where we are today. So we need to look into it.”

The Monegasque driver can’t help but notice how Ferrari is falling further behind their competitors.

“We are not anywhere close of being on the level of McLaren, Red Bull and actually now Mercedes in some occasions,” Leclerc explained. “Quite recently they’ve just been a step forward, so it’s not been easy.”

His P9 finish in Baku further highlights Ferrari’s ongoing struggles.

Looking ahead to 2026 brings mixed emotions for Leclerc. The upcoming regulation changes offer a fresh start, but there’s anxiety too.

“I’m looking forward to it. I think it’s a big opportunity for the team to turn the situation around,” he said. “I really hope we start ’26 on the right foot because otherwise it’s going to be a tough couple of years.”

## Ferrari on the backfoot in Singapore

The Italian team had to settle for P6 and P7 qualifying positions in Singapore, with Hamilton leading the Ferrari duo. Both drivers’ comments revealed the harsh reality of where Ferrari currently stands in the pecking order.

For a team with Ferrari’s history and resources, these results are particularly disappointing. The once-dominant force in Formula 1 now finds itself regularly fighting for scraps behind the leading teams.

Can they bounce back before the season ends, or is Leclerc right to set his sights on 2026 already?
