After securing a brilliant sixth-place finish at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Gabriel Bortoleto took his talents beyond the track by jumping on stage with Italian house music trio Meduza.
The young Brazilian driver has really found his groove lately after taking some time to adjust to Formula 1.
He’s scored points in three of the last four races – grabbing eighth in Austria, ninth in Belgium, and an impressive sixth in Hungary.
This strong showing hasn’t just been good for Bortoleto. His points, combined with teammate Nico Hülkenberg’s results, have pushed Sauber up to seventh in the Constructors’ Championship.
They’re now just one point behind Aston Martin – not bad for a team that’s transitioning to become Audi next season under the leadership of Mattia Binotto and Jonathan Wheatley.
Bortoleto’s driving has caught the attention of some big names in the paddock, including two-time world champion Fernando Alonso, who manages the rookie through his A14 Management company.
“The truth is that he always pushes, he doesn’t make mistakes, he’s always there putting pressure on you,” Alonso said about the young talent.
The Spanish veteran didn’t stop there.
“He’s the best rookie of this generation, I always say it — he proved it last year with equal cars.”
Alonso even suggested there might be some bias in how Bortoleto’s achievements are being covered in the media.
“I think that if he were English or something and finished sixth with a Sauber, he’d be on the front page of every newspaper, because what he’s doing is truly exceptional. I really hope people see that.”
## Bortoleto on stage with Meduza
With F1 taking a short break, Bortoleto hasn’t just been relaxing at home.
The Brazilian driver made a surprise appearance on stage with popular house music group Meduza during their performance of a remixed version of the Brazilian hit “Passo Bem Solto.”
“We needed a Brazilian on stage for our Passo Bem Solto remix…luckily Gabriel Bortoleto had our back,” the trio shared on their Instagram account.
It seems the rookie is finding success both on and off the track as his star continues to rise in the Formula 1 world.
