F1 News: Verstappen Monitors Rivals, Mercedes Addresses Weakness

Max Verstappen is leading the drivers’ standings by 78 points ahead of Lando Norris, but he doesn’t think the 2024 title is secured yet and wants to keep an eye on his rivals. Meanwhile, Mercedes’ Andrew Shovlin discussed areas where Mercedes could still improve.

Verstappen’s Cautious Optimism

Despite being a three-time world champion, Verstappen believes his fourth title is still far away. He told F1TV that there are no easy titles in Formula One and emphasized that “anything can still happen.”

Verstappen also shared some dislikes. He prefers living in the moment and doesn’t want to know what the future holds. Additionally, he finds media duties repetitive and tiresome.

Red Bull junior Arvin Lindblad talked about getting recognized by people like Helmut Marko or Max Verstappen. Simultaneously, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko isn’t idle either. After a two-day event at Jerez, he signed two youngsters to the Red Bull family.

Mercedes’ Quest for Improvement

Mercedes has shown improvement in recent Grands Prix weekends and hopes this trend continues. They’ve won three out of the last races. However, Andrew Shovlin pointed out that their rivals, Verstappen and McLaren, are still ahead in some areas.

At McLaren, Oscar Piastri has made significant progress entering the summer break of his second season. Sky Sports pundit Karun Chandhok predicts that Piastri will outscore Norris for the rest of the season.

Fans might think it’s exciting to see how these predictions play out!

What do you think? Is Verstappen being too cautious or just smart?
