F1 2024: Why Next Season Could Be Even Better

The 2024 F1 season ended with a surprising twist – the competition got incredibly close, especially in its final months. That’s great news for racing fans looking ahead to 2025.

Max Verstappen grabbed his fourth straight world title, but it wasn’t the easy ride we’ve gotten used to seeing from him.

The first five races looked like business as usual for Red Bull Racing. Then everything changed at the Miami Grand Prix.

Suddenly McLaren, Ferrari, and Mercedes were all fighting for wins. The dominance that defined recent F1 seasons started crumbling.

Let’s look at the numbers. Before Miami, Verstappen and his teammate Sergio Perez were comfortably sitting 1-2 in the championship. But after Miami? The field exploded with competition.

Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton gave Verstappen a real fight, scoring 141 and 131 points respectively in the next 10 races. That’s not far behind Verstappen’s 167 points during the same period.

Things got really tough for Perez though. He only managed 46 points after Miami, tumbling down the standings. It just kept getting worse – after summer break, he scored just 21 points. That poor performance eventually cost him his F1 seat for 2025.

Red Bull’s struggles were real. After the summer break, they scored the least points among the top four teams – just 181 points. That’s pretty shocking for a team that dominated early in the season.

But here’s why 2025 could be amazing: teams have pretty much maxed out what they can do with current car designs. The rules aren’t changing, and everyone’s already thinking about 2026’s big regulation changes.

That means we’re likely to see more of what we got in late 2024 – super close racing with multiple teams fighting for wins.

The teams have said it themselves – there’s not much more performance they can squeeze out of these cars. And with everyone splitting focus between current cars and 2026 designs, we might just get one of the most competitive F1 seasons in recent memory.

For F1 fans who love close racing, 2025 is shaping up to be something special.
