Kamala Harris, running for president in the U.S., really likes Formula 1 racing but finds it hard to watch during her busy campaign. Her top driver is Lewis Hamilton, who has won the World Championship seven times.
She shared her love for F1, saying she and her family enjoy watching races on Sundays. “It’s so good. We love it. Our whole family does,” she mentioned on Howard Stern’s show.
Kamala Harris: A True F1 Enthusiast?
When asked if this was just a campaign trick, she firmly denied it. “No. God no. No,” she replied, explaining that campaigning and time zones make it tough to catch races live.
Her favorite? “Lewis Hamilton, of course. He’s leaving Mercedes,” she noted with enthusiasm. Harris encouraged others to give F1 a try: “Once you start…you should see it, you might get hooked.”
Fans might wonder if her passion for F1 will sway any voters.
In November, Harris will compete against Donald Trump in the presidential election. Trump showed up at the Miami Grand Prix earlier this year, where Lando Norris claimed victory. There are still two more U.S.-based F1 races left in the 2024 season: one in Austin and another in Las Vegas.
