Emotional Ricciardo Aims to Assist Verstappen in Winning Title: ‘Christmas Present’

Daniel Ricciardo looked heartbroken after the Singapore Grand Prix. Rumors suggest it might have been his final Formula 1 race, with Liam Lawson set to take over in Austin.

Ricciardo couldn’t hide how he felt after the race.

Ricciardo’s Emotional Farewell

“It was a tough race,” Ricciardo admitted, looking both physically and mentally drained. “Starting from Q1 means a long day ahead. I tried a different strategy, hoping for a safety car, but it didn’t happen. Our plan fell apart, and we just weren’t fast enough.”

In the last moments of the race, Ricciardo helped his buddy Max Verstappen by setting the fastest lap, taking a point away from Lando Norris. “We weren’t in a great position, so we aimed for the fastest lap. Maybe it’ll help Max by Abu Dhabi. Who knows? Maybe I’ll get a Christmas gift if he wins by one point,” he chuckled.

Hinting at Goodbye

When asked if this could be his last race, Ricciardo got emotional. “Yeah, it’s a lot to take in. I’m aware this might be it and I’m just really tired after the race. It’s overwhelming,” he said with tears in his eyes.
