Arvid Lindblad just won another Formula 3 race in Spain, his second win this season.
Born on August 8th, 2007, Arvid Lindblad is the youngest driver in Formula 3. He began karting in 2015 and quickly made a name for himself by winning several championships.
Britain’s Next F1 Star?
In 2022, he debuted in Italian F4 and joined PREMA Racing for a full campaign in 2023. Last year, he finished third overall and was fourth in the Euro 4 Championship. He also won the Macau F4 World Cup race at the end of the year.
These achievements earned him a spot in Formula 3 for the 2024 season with PREMA Racing. This team has helped many drivers reach F1, like Charles Leclerc and Mick Schumacher. Backed by Red Bull since he was just 13 years old, Lindblad runs their colors on his car and gear. “I remember very vividly I was in the hotel having breakfast with my dad two weeks before the World Championship and his phone rang and it was [Red Bull team director] Dr [Helmut] Marko asking to have a sit-down,” said Lindblad.
Currently sitting fourth in the Formula 3 standings, he had an impressive start by winning the Bahrain Sprint race easily. Though finishing eighth in Bahrain’s feature race, he grabbed nine points by coming second in Melbourne’s sprint race. Imola was tough; he ended up eighth and seventh respectively there. In Monaco, he narrowly missed out on a podium finish by coming fourth but bounced back to win Spain’s feature race.
Fans might think he’s got what it takes to make it all the way to F1!
Other British Drivers Making Waves
Lindblad isn’t alone; other British drivers are also climbing through Formula 1’s feeder series. On the F3 grid alongside him are Luke Browning (backed by Williams), Cian Shields, Callum Voisin, and Joseph Loake. Meanwhile, Zak O’Sullivan, Ollie Bearman, and Taylor Barnard represent Britain on the Formula 2 grid.
