Could Verstappen Retire Early Due to FIA Penalties? Marko Thinks It’s Possible

Max Verstappen doesn’t plan to stay in Formula 1 for a long time. After getting a strange community service penalty for swearing at a press conference in Singapore, he repeated this.

Helmut Marko responded to Max’s words. He said, “Max has to be taken seriously.”

“Max has achieved a lot. But it is important for him that he also has fun and enjoys the whole sport. If that gets more and more ruined for him, then he is no longer himself If he says, ‘OK, that’s it,’ he means it.” Marko hopes this won’t make Max leave soon.

Marko calls out double standards

Marko thinks the fuss over Max’s swearing is too much. He pointed out that Guenther Steiner became popular for swearing, but Max got punished right away. In Las Vegas, other team leaders like Frederic Vasseur and Toto Wolff only got warnings. “There is a double standard,” Marko said angrily.

“He wasn’t even talking about a person; he meant the car,” Marko added. Fans might think this situation is unfair .

Marko concluded by saying if things keep being judged so strictly, people might start talking differently in the future. But he believes it’s all exaggerated.
