Could This Be Attracting Newey to Aston Martin? ‘Beyond Financial Incentives’

The future of Adrian Newey is still uncertain.

People in F1 think he might join another team rather than retire.

What will attract Newey to an F1 team?

Newey announced he was leaving Red Bull Racing in May, sparking lots of rumors. Ted Kravitz speculates that Aston Martin’s Technical Director might be trying to bring him in. Since then, Newey has been linked with Ferrari and Aston Martin. McLaren’s CEO Zak Brown said he’s not interested because he’s happy with his current team. So, it seems like the top choices are Lawrence Stroll’s team and Ferrari.

“The financial recompenses is important in terms of your value to a team. I think it’s more important for the people he is working with, the environment he is working under and where he is working. Maybe a move to Italy is too much of a stretch at his age,” Kravitz mentioned on the Sky Sports F1 podcast.

Kravitz also pointed out Lawrence Stroll’s investments over recent years. The new factory at Silverstone and a wind tunnel could attract Newey, along with the chance to work with an old friend from Red Bull.

“He already has Dan Fallows who he worked with successfully at Red Bull Racing. I would imagine he spoke to Fallows about the place, what’s it like. I asked Fallows about this in Hungary, asking if he would be happy to bring him back. He said ‘Adrian is a relentless, unstoppable F1 competitor. I would be amazed if he didn’t join another team. I would welcome working with him again at Aston Martin’,” Kravitz added.

Fans might wonder if Newey will choose a familiar face or a fresh challenge.

Interestingly, Fernando Alonso has shown interest in teaming up with Newey before. The two-time World Champion called him the best ever during the Miami Grand Prix weekend.

What do you think? Where will Newey go next?
