The top three racers at the United States Grand Prix are pleased with the changes made to the track this year. Last year, they had issues with the bumpy tarmac, but now they feel it’s much better.
Charles Leclerc, who took first place in the race, is happy with the improvements. He said, “I think there’s been a massive step forward in the parts where it’s been resurfaced.” However, he still finds some areas like Turns 3 through 7 too bumpy and believes more work is needed there.
Track Improvements Bring Smiles
Carlos Sainz helped Ferrari secure another 1-2 finish this season and shares his teammate’s satisfaction. He noted that while Austin will always have bumps due to its unique character, some spots need regular attention. “Certain bumps will need to get work done every year,” he mentioned. But overall, he’s okay with a bit of bumpiness as long as it doesn’t get too wild.
Fans might think these changes make racing more exciting and safer for their favorite drivers.
Max Verstappen, who finished third and has won at this track three times before, agrees with Sainz. He finds the high-speed bumps not just challenging but also risky. “It’s dangerous,” he stated plainly.
