Can Norris Achieve Championship Status with 99% Comfort Level?

The 2024 racing season is nearing its end with just six races left, including three sprints. Lando Norris‘s amazing drive at the Singapore Grand Prix showed McLaren is the team to catch, as they finished almost 21 seconds ahead and closed the gap in the championship standings to 52 points behind Max Verstappen.

McLaren has been the most reliable team this year since Norris’s victory in Miami. Red Bull, once dominant in 2023, has fallen back, and Verstappen hasn’t won since Spain. McLaren now leads the constructors’ championship.

Norris admits he’s missed chances to close the gap even more this year but hopes his recent win in Singapore means his car will keep improving.

Norris ‘working more than ever’ to close the gap in the title race

In an interview with The Athletic, Norris shared, “I’m working more, probably than I have done previously, on every area to try and improve and eliminate as many weaknesses as I can.” He feels confident about most things but is always looking for that next big improvement.

Next up is the United States Grand Prix in 2024. Norris and McLaren are determined to find extra speed for a shot at a double title win: “Life has not changed. It’s just working in different ways to try and unlock more performance. It’s as simple as that, really.”

Fans might wonder if McLaren can keep up this momentum until the end of the season.

What do you think? Can Norris and McLaren pull off a surprise win by season’s end?
