Andrea Kimi Antonelli dreams big. The young Italian is set to join Mercedes in 2025, racing alongside George Russell, and he’s not just aiming to compete—he wants to win.
He’ll be stepping into the shoes of Lewis Hamilton, who made an impressive debut with McLaren in 2007 by securing podium finishes in his first nine races, including two victories. Antonelli has similar aspirations for his start with Mercedes.
Antonelli’s Ambitious Goals
During the Festival dello Sport hosted by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Antonelli expressed confidence about his readiness for Formula 1: “Speed won’t be a problem. The challenge will be mastering race weekends and learning all the procedures. There’s a lot to learn, but I’m prepared.”
His sights are set on winning from the get-go: “Winning some races would be a dream come true,” he shared. “It’s tough since every team has strong cars, but that’s my first goal. Even a few podiums would be nice, but victories are what I really want.”
Fans might think it’s bold for someone so young to aim so high right away.
