A big change is happening at Audi.
Mattia Binotto is set to replace Andreas Seidl as the COO and CTO of the team, now called Stake F1 Team. Valtteri Bottas was caught off guard by this news.
“Quite sudden news,” Bottas said. “I believe everything happened pretty quickly, but obviously those high-level decisions, we as drivers and many of the team members don’t know really what’s going on behind the scenes. But yeah, quite unexpected, but obviously welcoming Mattia to the team. And at the same time, I want to thank Mr Seidl and Mr Hoffman for their contribution to the team.”
Changes Under New Leadership:
With Binotto stepping in, things are bound to shift operationally. “It’s a bit of a reset again,” Bottas noted. He explained that new leadership always needs time to understand the team’s strengths and weaknesses before making improvements.
This marks the third leadership change in three years for Bottas’ team. “The team shouldn’t be too affected at this point. I think it’s more the stuff for the future, and obviously time will show what will happen,” he added.
Fans might wonder how these changes will impact future races.
Bottas’ contract ends after this season, leaving his future uncertain. Nico Hulkenberg has a secure spot, but who will get the second seat remains unknown.
