Berger Suggests Red Bull Could Gain Time to Reorganize

Red Bull Racing is looking to bounce back at the US Grand Prix. Max Verstappen leads the championship but can’t afford to lose any points.

Earlier this year, it seemed like Verstappen would dominate just like in 2023. He has seven wins but hasn’t tasted victory since Spain. Gerhard Berger said, “I never, ever expected Red Bull to be in the situation they are in now. We started this season with the certainty that it would be boring, with Verstappen’s total dominance again and a done deal, but instead the opposite is happening.”

Berger on Newey’s Departure

Things took a turn for Red Bull after Miami when Adrian Newey left. Berger thinks his exit hit the team hard. “Now they have new leaders who have to prove they deserve the succession,” he mentioned. Many engineers also left, adding to their troubles. If Max wins despite these challenges, Red Bull might have time to regroup.

Since Azerbaijan, McLaren overtook Red Bull in the constructors’ race, leading by 41 points with two tripleheaders remaining. Fans might wonder if Red Bull can catch up or if McLaren will keep their lead.

Sometimes fans think it’s exciting when unexpected things happen in sports.

What do you think? Can Red Bull make a comeback or will McLaren stay ahead?
