Bearman to Drive Formula 1 Car in Spain This Weekend

Ferrari junior Oliver Bearman will drive the Haas F1 car in Barcelona next weekend.

Bearman had a chance to drive the Haas car during the first practice session at Imola. Now, he’s competing for a 2025 F1 seat along with Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Jack Doohan. Haas team boss Ayao Komatsu confirmed that they are evaluating Bearman closely. “Of course, we are evaluating him. If he is not [under] consideration, we wouldn’t be running him in FP1, and the next time he’s going to be in the car is in Barcelona,” Komatsu told the official Formula One website.

Komatsu wants an experienced driver alongside Bearman

After his amazing debut at the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix for Ferrari, it looks like Bearman might get a permanent seat for 2025 in Formula 1. However, Komatsu hinted that Haas also needs an experienced driver to join Bearman. “We are still a pretty small team,” he said. “To have somebody experienced, somebody who’s got a really good work ethic , to integrate with the team well and really push the team forward… that’s what we’re looking for, so we’re talking with several different drivers.”

Fans might wonder if this mix of youth and experience will help Haas succeed.

What do you think about this news? Will Bearman shine or will experience rule?
