Sergio Perez is feeling confident about the upcoming Formula 1 race in Baku, Azerbaijan.
After a tough weekend in Italy, where Max Verstappen came sixth and Perez finished eighth, Red Bull Racing has been working hard to improve their performance.
Work carried out at Red Bull:
Perez mentioned they’ve done some serious thinking. “We’ve had a good period of reflection and work since the last race in Monza. Both Max and I have been in the factory working with the Team to ensure we are finding the fix for the problems we have been suffering from when it comes to car performance,” he said.
He believes teamwork is key. “To get back to where we should be on the grid it will take a Team effort and you can see that everyday in Milton Keynes and at track, this has pulled us all together and we are confident we are going to be heading in the right direction.”
Baku seems to be Perez’s lucky charm. He’s won there multiple times and scored more points than anyone else. Even if he doesn’t add to his 115 points this weekend, no one can catch him this season. Fans might think it’s cool how he’s always so strong on this track.
“Baku is always a fun track, I personally love racing there, street circuits suit my style and I love testing myself on them,” Perez said. He’s curious to see how their car performs, saying practice will be crucial before putting their recent learnings into action.
