Anthony Hamilton Confident: ‘Lewis Would Never Have Lost That Victory’

Anthony Hamilton is extremely proud of his son Lewis’s performance at the British Grand Prix. Lewis clinched his ninth victory at Silverstone.

After the race, Lewis hugged his father tightly, showing their close bond. Anthony Hamilton told Sky Sports, “He was never going to give that up. You just had to watch the times. It didn’t matter what was happening. Lewis was in full control.”

Anthony Hamilton did not doubt Lewis’ chances for a moment

“There was absolutely no way, with that current tyre and the tyres that he had underneath him, that he was going to allow that win to slip for the British public,” Anthony continued. He pointed out how well Lewis handled the changing weather conditions.

Even though Lewis felt down after qualifying second behind George Russell, he knew he’d bounce back. “He goes home, refocuses, and comes back,” said Anthony Hamilton. “You know he’s calculated everything.” Fans might think this shows how determined and strategic Lewis is.

“He’s waited for the environment to change,” Anthony added. “And when it does change, he’s in his element.” This victory is great for Mercedes and British fans but also fantastic for motorsport as a whole .
