Alpine to Reach Podium in Two Years, Predicts Briatore

Alpine is having a tough time in 2024, sitting eighth in the constructors’ standings with only 11 points.

Last year, they had 57 points by the summer break. Bruno Famin has stepped down as team principal, and Oliver Oakes from Hitech Pulse-Eight is taking over. There have been several other changes at the top of Alpine. Flavio Briatore came back as an Executive Advisor in June and believes the team will improve within two years.

‘2027, we have a podium’

Flavio Briatore made a bold statement on the Formula For Success podcast with Eddie Jordan. He talked about his return to the Enstone team and why he thinks Alpine will be leading the pack soon.

“We have a new team principal,” Briatore said to Jordan. “It’s a look at myself and Oliver is the team principal. Alpine, I promise you, Alpine give me two years. In two years, we see the podium. 2027 we have a podium.”

Briatore didn’t say who would join Pierre Gasly at Alpine in 2025 but mentioned that Carlos Sainz was their top choice before he signed with Williams for next season. Instead of focusing solely on finding another driver, Briatore emphasized restructuring the team and improving the car’s performance for next year.

Fans might think this news is exciting but also a bit too hopeful.

“And in 2026, I believe we will see the new Alpine,” Briatore concluded confidently.

What do you think? Will Alpine really turn things around by 2027?
