So, it’s goodbye to AlphaTauri. After a four-year stint, the name’s bowing out of Formula 1. Red Bull’s sibling team? They’re switching things up for the 2024 season. Word on the street is, they’re leaning towards “Visa Cash App RB”.
AlphaTauri’s keeping mum on the new name, though. But they’re not shy about expressing gratitude. They’ve got a heartfelt shoutout for their fans. “Four years and countless memories. Thanks for riding along,” they shared on X (Twitter’s old name, remember?).
AlphaTauri wasn’t always AlphaTauri, though. They were Toro Rosso before 2020. But that’s old news.
AlphaTauri’s New Identity
Peter Bayer, the big boss at AlphaTauri, spilled the beans in November 2023. A total ‘rebranding’ was on the cards. The shareholders had a say in the new name. Bayer mentioned that their American partners got their thinking caps on for this one.
