Alonso Drives Adrian Newey’s Ultra-Premium Supercar on Track

Fernando Alonso Takes Aston Martin’s Incredible Hypercar for a Spin

Racing legend Fernando Alonso recently hit the track in one of the world’s most extreme cars – the Aston Martin Valkyrie. The two-time F1 champion was spotted putting the hypercar through its paces at Spain’s MotorLand Aragón circuit.

Aston Martin shared several photos of Alonso with the road-legal monster designed by Adrian Newey.

Don’t let the “road-legal” label fool you. This beast has almost nothing in common with regular cars you see on the street. It’s basically an F1 car in disguise.

Under the hood sits a massive 6.5-litre V12 engine developed with Cosworth, plus a hybrid electric motor. Together, they pump out an mind-blowing 1,139 horsepower with around 900 Nm of torque. All that power goes to the rear wheels through a seven-speed transmission.

The performance stats are just ridiculous.

It goes from 0 to 60 mph in about 2.5 seconds and can hit speeds over 217 mph. Thanks to its carbon-fiber construction, the car weighs just 1,270 kg (2,800 pounds) on the road – giving it the coveted 1:1 power-to-weight ratio that engineers dream about.

The aerodynamics borrow heavily from F1 technology, using ground effect to literally suck the car to the pavement. It’s got race-car suspension too – further proof this isn’t your average luxury vehicle.

## Alonso’s £210,000+ Christmas Gift

The Spanish driver got another amazing present from Aston Martin this holiday season – a brand new DBX S SUV.

This isn’t your typical family hauler. The DBX S cranks out 727 horsepower and reaches a top speed of 193 mph. It blasts from 0 to 124 mph in just 11.4 seconds.

Price tag? A cool £210,000 (about €240,000).

Alonso picked up his new ride in Monte Carlo, with the local dealership sharing pictures of the handover on Instagram.
