2025 Sprint Races: Six Venues Officially Announced

Formula 1 has announced the six locations for sprint races in the 2025 season.

Belgium will host a sprint weekend, replacing Austria’s Red Bull Ring.

The Sprint Venues:

Six venues are set for the sprints: China, Miami, Austin, Brazil, and Qatar. The first sprint race kicks off in China during the second round of the 2025 season.

In early May, Miami will host its sprint race. Austria’s Red Bull Ring is out this time; instead, Belgium takes its place during round 13 of the World Championship.

The last three sprints will be held in Austin, Brazil, and Qatar. Qatar is scheduled as the penultimate round before finishing in Abu Dhabi on December 7th.

Whether this year’s format sticks around is still up in the air. More discussions are needed to decide if changes will happen later on.

Sprint Races Are Popular

Formula 1 stated that sprint races are a hit and grabbing lots of attention. TV viewership has jumped significantly on Fridays when normally only practice sessions would air. Now there’s a sprint shootout right after FP1!

Fans might think these changes keep things exciting and fresh.
